LED (light-emitting diode) TVs use LEDs to illuminate the display, by placing LEDs across the back of the display. They are more power efficient than plasma TVs.
• The light source placed at the back of the screen is called backlight. A light diffuser is placed between the backlight and the screen to uniform the source of light equally across the screen.
• Using LEDs enable a thinner television screen.
